If you are in the market and looking to pick yourself up a brand steamer from the large collection of garment steamers online, you are best to be armed with a little knowledge when comparing the many models available on the market. Equally, if this is the first time you are buying one to use, you may not know what the best features that apply to garment steamers in order to get the most for your money. For your convenience, we compare the best and worst features available on modern steamers to assist you in getting the best-featured item for your budget.

Uses for Garment Steamers

The first question to ask yourself is what are you going to use it for? Is it simply to steam delicate clothing that is not suitable for a traditional iron or are you buying as an iron replacement. If it’s just the delicates, it’s best to opt for a smaller handheld steamer that will allow for easy storage whilst not in use and will be cheaper overall. If you are buying as an iron replacement, you may need something more heavy-duty as it will see a fair amount of use and will be used for sustained periods of time. A powerful steamer will make light work of a pile of laundry but if that’s it’s use, it may be best to opt for a more commercially sized unit.

Why You Should Use Steam Generator Irons ??

Replace your Iron with a Garment Steamer

If you intent to use the iron whilst travelling, perhaps you are staying in hotels for a conference or indeed any other reason, you may want to opt for a travel version of the many garment steamers available. These are lightweight and will easily fit in your luggage. Although small in size, they are more than capable of removing those pesky wrinkles your clothes gather from being inside suitcases/bags. It’s also worth noting that steamers are safe to use on all kinds of garments so you need not worry about damaging your clothes.

Garment Steamer Prices

Another factor to take into account is the budget you have set and the price of garment steamers. At the bottom end of the price scale are the handheld steamers and the travel steamers. They will come in anywhere between $30 and $60 and will be suitable for light use. They will usually come with bundled with accessories including nozzles and if it’s a travel iron, a small case for storage. These vary in wattage anywhere from 200 watts to 1 kilowatt. Generally speaking, the higher the wattage, the more powerful steamer.

A professional or indeed commercial garment steamer is at the other end of the scale. These can cost anywhere from $100 – $300 and will typically range from 1.2 kilowatts to 2 kilowatts. These are best suited for extended home use as an iron replacement or for a clothing store, small or large, where you need to have a lot of clothes ironed each day. Using a garment steamer is considerably quicker than a standard iron and is well suited to handling delicate fabrics with no risk of damage to textures such as silk.

Shop Around for a Garment Steamer

Remember to shop around and get the best deal for your money. Most of the best deals these days are found online so it’s really worth shopping around and reading a few reviews of individual models you are looking at purchasing. As with any kind of shopping online, when you come to the checkout, remember to search for a coupon code for the online store you are using as you may find yourself saving a tidy packet of money.
